  Tuesday Night Siege
Posted by: Krell - 07-08-2014, 09:17 PM - Forum: News & Announcements - Replies (2)

Congratulations to all those hearty adventurers who joined us for tonight's defeat of Garrosh! We took the fight to him, and ended up victorious. But, what made the night even more grand was that he happened to be carrying around an armload of his special weapons that he turned over to people when he realized he was defeated. All told, 8 raid members walked away with shiny weapons they will be able to use for quite some time. Well done!

Remember we will be facing him again on Thursday for our weekly 10-man raid. Perhaps this will be the week he falls!

  News & Bank cleanup
Posted by: Zlinka - 07-01-2014, 12:10 PM - Forum: News & Announcements - No Replies

Mok'ra, Tribe!

Congratulations to Annof and Alyneste who have become full members! Welcome to the Tribe!

We will be clearing the bank of old materials in the near future to start making room for new materials and items that we'll be getting in Warlords of Draenor. So if there are materials, leveling items, glyphs, cooking ingredients, plans, or anything else you need from the bank, please take them now!

When we start cleanup, we will be auctioning or vendoring old items and putting the money earned back in the guild bank.

We run flex Siege every Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.! Please join us! We would like an iLevel of at least 530 for this as we have been doing wing four every week. At the end of our Tuesday run we sometimes hit an earlier wing (for which a lower iLevel or alts are okay), and then Ordos (you'll need the legendary cloak for that).

Our 10-man is running on Thursdays at 7:30 p.m. It is currently working on Garrosh.

Oryx and Zlinka will be out of town for the 4th of July weekend -- we'll see you when we get back!

  Patch 6.0 News
Posted by: Zlinka - 05-08-2014, 11:17 AM - Forum: News & Announcements - No Replies

Mok'ra, Tribe!

Details about patch 6.0 are coming out! 6.0 will be the game-mechanics patch that comes out before the Warlords of Draenor expansion.

The 6.0 patch has some exciting implications for us. The new scalable raiding system will be applied to Siege of Orgrimmar! What that means is that the current flex, 10/25-man normal, and 10/25-man heroic modes will go away. These will be replaced with a new scalable Normal, scalable Heroic, and 20-man Mythic versions.

This is great news for us: it means that we will no longer be confined to exactly 10 people for our Normal and Heroic runs -- we will be able to accommodate more people!

The 'stat squish,' class changes, and item changes will also go live. Heirlooms drop rates will bel significantly increased as well. Raid dungeons will be re-tuned for the new numbers and scaling size, and should be no more difficult than it is currently.

So as soon as Patch 6.0 hits:
* our Tuesday raids will go from being Flex raids to scalable Normal, and probably scalable Heroic (the equivalent of old Normal),
* our Thursday raid will become scalable Normal, and probably scalable Heroic.
* we will be able to start a raid dungeon on Tuesday and continue it on Thursday, thus greatly speeding up our progression.

More details from MMO Champion.

  10-man Siege of Orgrimmar
Posted by: Zlinka - 04-09-2014, 04:02 PM - Forum: News & Announcements - No Replies

Mok'ra, Tribe!

Before the raid on Tuesday, we discussed what the goals should be for our playgroup now that we have downed Garrosh once on flex, and the next expansion is probably about 5 months away. We discussed three goals:

(1) Get the Siege of Orgrimmar meta-achievement for the Galakras mount;
(2) Work on flex Garrosh until we can get him down regularly;
(3) Start a 10-man normal Siege of Orgrimmar raid.

We had a good discussion. The upshot is that we have decided to do Flex on Tuesdays, and start a 10-man Normal raid on Thursdays. We will pick up pieces of the meta-achievement as we can, but this will not be a high priority.

We will be running our first rostered 10-man normal raid this Thursday, April 10th. We will be running this raid along the same lines that we used in early Mists raiding:

* The raid will have a set roster. Ten invites will go out a week ahead of time.
* Please RSVP to me as soon as you can with "Accept" or "Decline." If you receive an invite and accept it, you have a guaranteed slot.
* If someone declines, I will offer that slot to an alternate. If the alternate accepts, that player has a guaranteed slot for that night (even if the original person shows up). If the alternate declines, I will offer the slot to another alternate, and so forth. All this back-and-forth communication takes time, so please RSVP as soon as you can.
* My goal is to hit the ground running at 7:30 with a full, balanced raid. No searching to fill last-minute slots. No people showing up fully expecting to get in and getting turned down.
* The occasional, unpredictable no-shows due to unforeseen circumstances mean that a person who is not on the calendar, who shows up at raid time, may get in, but I cannot guarantee a player a slot for that evening if that player is not on the calendar.
* We currently have about 14 people who run regularly with us, which means that some people will not be able to go on a given night. I am sorry about that. This is a game design constraint that is, happily, going away in the next expansion, when normal raids will become scalable (hooray!). In the meantime, there will doubtless be absences from week to week and I will get more people into the raid when possible.

Here is an FAQ on how we run our Normal-mode raids, with more information on attendance, absences, expectations, and so forth. Please read this so you know what to expect!

Mok'ra, Tribe!

We've had a productive several weeks since the fall of Garrosh. We have completed numerous achievements in the first two wings of Siege, and look forward to finishing those off in the near future. We have only a few achievements left in the 3rd and 4th wings.

Blizzard implemented cross-realm normal raiding this week -- hooray! On Thursday, we had a balanced group of 10 show up, including two of our cross-realm raid members, so we hit 10-man normal. It went very well. We got Immerseus, the Protectors, and the Sha down in one shot, and got Norushen down the second attempt! Well done, all!

We raid on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. Please join us! We've had a number of new members express interest in raiding with us and that's great! We like a minimum iLevel of 520 and would prefer it to be over 530. The Timeless Isle is a great place to gear up -- burdens of Eternity will give you an automatic 535, and these can be upgraded again with Valor Points to 543.
