Psion, you have met the rest of the Ironsong Tribe, yes?

Sorry, thats my warped sense of humor for you. Holding a moot in NYC would be just about the silliest thing I could think of, sort of like holding an in-game moot in Ironforge. Hm....

On my drive from my stockton to my parent's place in portland, I picked up some paperwork stuffs on campgrounds/commercial stuffs/boating/whathaveyou at the visitor center that's on the way. I'm going to eye through it, and get some more info up here. Big Grin
Flight booked to Sacramento. I will be there.
Hmmmm, the Blademaster has already purchased a plane ticket to Sacramento for this event. It appears I must actually get to work and actually plan some events, and solidify our plans. At this point, since it appears that the Yerts are out (they are not open this time of year), I am guessing we will be reserving a large area (several camping spots) somewhere around the lake. I hope to chat with Vanea and Sound and get this done shortly, so that we can also follow up and include what will be nearby us as well.

I am hoping to find a campsite that would be near at least some civilization....7 Eleven, Motel 6, showers, perhaps even a greasy spoon diner.

I hope to have some info posted in the next day or so. However, I will be posting it in a new thread. For those that are interested in joining us, please reply to the new thread when its up and running so we can get a good solid head count.

~~ I still cant believe that what started as a silly comment on Vent has escalated like it has. This is wonderful ~~
I would love to attend, being in Bellingham myself. Its just a matter of getting there that might be difficult. Im in a new place and with a new job, so my savings are currently low. We shall see. Maybe if Sound is willing to let another passanger hitch a ride on down? Ill even let you school me at the Cribage!
Just letting you guys know that the date we wanted to generally know who and who wouldn't be coming for sure by is fast approaching (August 21st). Please remember to reply here if you're at all considering it or are for sure going to be there, it would be quite helpful to the planners.. The sooner you can let us know the better! :]

As Yerts were not available at any camp site at this time of year, we decided to go with Antlers, a campsite that's moderately close to some hotels/motels/inns etc. The only catch with this -- and with any site for that matter -- is that it's a first come, first serve basis kind of thing. Seeing it's the end of September, a Thursday, and not a holiday weekend, I don't foresee this causing an issue with getting a few double sites next to eachother. (Double sites allow two cars, ~12 people, and cost $30 per night for the site.. Singles are ~8 people, one car, $18/night).

Antlers is located just south of Lakehead, which has a few lodges in the town. Lakehead Lodge, Shasta Lake Motel, Neu Lodge Motel... just to name a few, I don't really know how these are, nor how much they will be for the nights we'll be there.. but some ideas for you all who wish to stay in a lodge.

Some locations that have cabin rentals in the area are: Antlers Resort Marina, Sugarloaf Cottages, Tsasdi Resort.

Just throwing some ideas out there for those who wish to get a motel room or a cabin for the weekend.

Anyway, I can make it! Can I hitch a ride with Sound?
Want me to invite other Harshies? Res and Porphyry are also in Seattle; Euthan and Ressk are in Portland.

Also, here's an image of Vanea with a bear.

Yar, I'd be game. I SO need a vacation. Can I hitch a ride with anyone passing through?

*points up three times* Seattle!

And boo to not making it, but yes, there shall be many many embarassing photos of all.
I think I've managed to be somehow asked three times in this thread if I could help someone down from the Seattle area, ect., so it's probably time I said something. I won't actually be driving down alone. Once I reach Portland I'll be hooking up with Krell, his wife and son and then going the rest of the way with them. At least I'm 95% sure I will be. Us three in the car plus the baby seat makes for no other room, unfortunately. However there seems to be plenty of other interest in the Seattle area of people wanting to also go, so maybe you three should hook up?
