Cataclysm...?
#16
Wow...I can't honestly say that I saw that one coming...an internet post having info on upcoming development, and it turned out to be pretty dead on...

Bravo!

Now only if this all turns out well enough as its planned for release day, then all is well. Revamping the entire world of Azeroth is no easy challenge. Archaeology I want to know more about, since it seems kinda flat and more pointless than it would be as a secondary skill. I am a bit excited about the character development changes insofar.

The thing I'm most excited about so far is the story. Some of the most entertaining aspects of WotLK was all of the political intrigue tied into the story, and the major turn of developments in the story now has me drooling with anticipation.

Kosath Wrote:You forget that I like gnomes. I played one in EQ for a very long time. The only thing gnomes have in common with goblins is height and a taste for engineering. A goblin is like crossing a ferengi, a rhodian, and a kobold and making it green.

well male gnomes can have that "creepy uncle face" that you wouldent expect on a "small cute guy" ...at least goblins make sence to look weird, and not look perverted on purpose Tongue

oh cool thing about goblins, they get a speed boost, a rocket turret that shoots baddies (share a CD) a bonus to alchemy and alchemy effectiveness on themselves (didnt actualy expect that..) and coolest trait EVAR...they get the "Best deals, anywhere!" so lowest cost for things from factions at each rep level, and lower cost to repair...and some others that escape me...Worgen get a sprint like thing also, increased dam to...everything and they get a boost to skinning and leatherworking and dont need a knife (cuz they has claws Tongue) annnd alot more im forgeting atm.

they seem kind of overpowered in traits...till you find out that EVERY race is getting more to even the scales (thats what they were saying at least)

oh and theres no more mp5, spellpower, attack power....haste too i think...and ALOT more of these kinds of things are gone (for now! its not set in stone, just what they were saying at blizzcon! who knows what the future holds!) and they are going to rework how other base things like spirt and int and str work instead.

if anyone wants to know more about things they talked about just post a question...and ill try my best to rember correctly lol XD though im shure somone posted the whole thing on youtube somewhere if you wanna dig around for answers "from the horses mouth" watching more tomrow before a party so ill see what else i can pick up...

I'm looking forward to this expansion, though I expect someone to be 85 within a day, if that. Confusedhock:

I like that the Worgen will be able to customize both their Human and Worgen appearances. Heroic Deadmines and Shadowfang Keep! I presume that those that don't get the expansion will still see the altered Azeroth? (EDIT: this is answered on the FAQ page.)

I'm intrigued about the guild levelling system. I hope they make it for more than the raiders/powergamers. In other words, for the raiders, an achievement that lets you bring along 1 mobile repair bot type thing on a 3 (?) day cooldown. For the more social guilds, maybe a Darkmoon Faire type thing you can set up, also on a 3 day cooldown.

Also curious about Archaeology...and whatever else they haven't revealed to us yet.

first off, they are making the 5 levels...hard to do. so it feels like an actual accomplishment....so get ready to tear out some hair.

ya, as you found out on your own EVERYONE, even the noobyest of noobs will see the change...so i think now would be a good time to go visit all your old places...maybe ill even pull out a few of my secret places from my sleeves and share with you all, seeing as how they may not be there after the "Event". Tongue

guild leveling, from what i remember they talked about how guild achievements will happen with that as well...and things more along the lines of decreasing durability costs for all members of the guild...or like less money for repairs.. maybe food buffs last through death...i cant remember much else then that..
*EDIT*
So far we know that:
Guilds will have their own levels (20 max)
Everyone in the guild can help it level by doing raids, dailies, battlegrounds and possibly more.
Guilds will have their own talent trees.
Examples for guild talents were given: cheaper repairs, less durability loss when wiping, Mass ressurection after a wipe Big Grin

oh ya Archaeology, basically you go around and find all these old..um..things now that the planet got hit in the face with a brick called Deathwing. you find enough of these things and you learn how to make..uh..stuff...i think it really is just another prof everyone gets and helps you find...like a Talent for your Path of the Titians....i cant remember most of the details...they may shed more light on it tomorrow, or i may have just not listened closely enough...

I'm sorry, goblins sound pretty awesome. Ferengi indeed, maybe I'll name mine Quark or some sort of derivative. I already got the practice trading and haggling from Dentik. Hmm maybe a priest or shaman so I can make my guild note "I've got the best heals anywhere!"

My goblin: Fizzii Spriclock - female - Probably gonna go for hunter or shaman

*sighs* I just barely got familiar with this expansion. And like every expansion before it (hell, even Classic, once BWL was released), I'll probably level terribly slowly, get thrown out of balance with the group, and then be confused the entire time. And not see most of it.

That's not a plea for pity or help, mind you. Just ... unlike everyone else I know, I'm not all that big on change. I like doing things over and over. Especially until I understand them and know I'm good at them. It's a big part of why I do lowbie runs and stick around in Outlands rather than Northrend.

I'm excited to hear about the changes, in general, because I like to see others excited. I'm just not sure that I, personally, am going to be doing all that much except helping where I'm needed.

You all are sounding like a bunch of Alliance. Are goblins good looking... No. Are the powerful... No. Great of stature... Not really. But they are friggin cool! I can't wait to port my warlock over and make him a goblin! Let them have the worgen.

Goblin mount revealed as a dune buggy.

This is also an excellent reason to have a goblin alt !

not about dune buggy...if every mount has a roar and action or something when its standing still and you press the space bar...will the dune buggy have Shocks and bump up and down..? cuz if so that would be amazing.

The idea of a completely redone Azeroth is really appealing to me, I'd love to see how everything looks. With the descriptions that have gone up, only time will tell whether or not I gravitate back to Azeroth.
