Dispaya has been through a number of changes recently, the most devastating of which was being "killed" and buried for over 8 years following the events of "Matter of Time." This strange event was closely followed by the terrible Zeppelin crash which almost resulted in her dear friend Krell becoming Scourged. Though she managed to save him, the effort was extrememly draining for her and so she decided to take a long retreat to the realm of Outland to try and help herself recover.
In Outland she returned to the Aldor and spent time in Shadowmoon Valley where she rescued and befriended a Netherwing Drake which she nicknamed "Vaya" (as the dragons real name was too hard to pronounce.)
While among the Aldor she decided to take up the tailoring trade, now preferring to place her study of alchemy on hold. She has not really spoken to anyone in detail about this decision however it seems related to the time period in which she was lost. It would seem that tailoring helps her focus and keeps her mind at ease.
You see, in the "Matter of Time" event, only a matter of days had passed for the Tribe between Dispaya's disappearance and subsequent resurrection, but for her, the time period was one of several months followed by 8 years of pseudo-death in which her mind was still active yet imprisoned in a grave.
Upon returning from Outland, Dispaya was delighted to discover that her adopted Father Sreng had taken a new daughter in the orc chld Anca. Dispaya had always acted as Anca's guardian and was now elated to find her duties to be more official. This happiness was brief however as Sreng also departed shortly after she returned. Dispaya always says that "life is a wheel" and so as one family member departs another comes to take their place.
The events of the Timeline and Outland seem to have had a profound effect on the mage. She has been changed slightly by these events and has become slightly less matronly. She was originaly turned to undeath at the age of 18 and having returned to that age briefly she now seems to have retained some of her more youthful qualities. Her close friends may observe her being more humerous and playful than usual, and perhaps this is a welcome change, however it may also be a way of coping with something far more painful than we can really know.
