Hunter offer

Krell Wrote:Leveling pets is much easier now. Krell pulled out one of his older pets (was level 70) and it instantly leveld to 75 (hooray for that addition) and in the span of a little more than 1 instance he has 76. So it would not be unusual to grab a new pet, and then run some random dungeons for a couple days and easily have it 80.

Its true. Pets only now require a fraction of experience (vs Your character itself) in order to level. Took me only a couple days of just questing to level a Wolf from 75 to (close to) 80.

Yup. I was dreading levelling my new spirit bear (my ferocity, non-tanky, moonfiring bear. *grin*) from 75-80 and had it done in only 4 random heroics. Nobody complained, probably since I was top DPS in all of those heroics, even as BM and with an underlevelled pet.

I was shocked how fast the pet levelling to 80 happened!

p.s. If anyone else wants hunter advice, please feel free to ask. Is fun to do, and it clarifies my own information at the same time!

Well my point was, don't run out and grab a random wolf 5 minutes before the raid and then wonder why it doesn't help your dps because it's only L75. I doubt you'll level that thing up in a raid where the experience gain is lowered by 90%.

Oh, excellent point!

If it actually is 5 minutes before raid and you are in need of a ferocity pet to drag abruptly from it's peaceful home into the horrors of Icecrown (*cough*), I would highly recommend that you head to Storm Peaks (for example) and find a ferocity pet that is already level 80, for sure!

Once I get past the work filters that block wowhead, I'll put some links up here of high DPS (ferocity) already level 80, non-exotic pets (like wolves, for example).

Oh, and as a side note: I got a whisper last night that cunning pets used to be decent for *very* specific hunter raiding spec due to mana regen skills. That is no longer the case, as the numbers were changed rather dramatically.

I got an 80 wolf from storm peaks and already have him set up and good to go.

I meant to log out with my raid gear on last night, however my modem crashed..so sorry (ruined some good RP i had going on too Sad ))

I got some new glyphs and everything is gemmed, I still need the AP enchant to my gloves and AG to my cloak though. Think you can help me with that Phoro? My regular enchanter hasn't been on this week. Just let me know what you need for it.

Great! Now all that's left is to name him after your in-game crush. I named my wolf Winnie and my cat Nadi. You can name yours Noodle if you wish.

LOL Noodle I love ya and I hate ya at the same time Smile

I got a wolf because I've heard from 2 different sources they do the best DPS. And I've already named it.

I do however (IRL), have a cat named Whiskers...I see you have a Whiskernoodle...there ya go.

Yup, I can do the enchants, no problem.

I'll check materials next time I am online, unless you want to jump on wowhead before I get there.

Noodle - I named one of my vanity pets after you....but you can't see the name and I won't say which one. *halo*

I'm gonna log out in reg gear so you can see what I have.

The boots I just got and need the agility enchant so I'll get the mats for that and grab someone to do it over the weekend. I did H PoS earlier but the necklace didn't drop so all I can do there is keep trying, and try to get the heroism trinket over the weekend as well. And I just got the Ashen Verdict ring when we went in there today. Gear-wise I should be up to par (other than necklace and in need of different trinkets). Also, so you know..I use saronite arrows regularly (dungeons and soloing) and iceblade arrows for raiding (so you might see either equipped).

Now for frost emblems I was going to buy [Band of the Night Raven] but would it be better if I go the trinket? http://www.wowhead.com/?item=50355. Or should I get something totally different? (sorry if I linked those wrong).

Aracna,

I am assuming that the Band of the Night Raven is a ring, and I would suggest that you not use your precious Frost Emblems on a ring. I've noticed that rings drop frequently in ICC, so if you will be continuing to venture in there with us I would simply wait for one of those rings.

Its not a ring, its a waist item...my belt is kind old.

I also just wanted to mention, I"ve gotten a few tells in game complimenting my seeking help and the improvement that I've been showing; and I do apreciate the encouragement and help. I'd like to keep this an open discussion to help out others that might be seeking improvement as well. It wasn't until (the other week I think) Phoro sent me a tell during one of the raids that with my gear I could be doing better and my initial response was really? tell me more. That night when we had some down time I changed my roation to what he had on the forums and immediatly there was improvement, he sent me some more suggestions and its been kinda going on ever since. I took some time off Aracna actualy and now that I'm rested a bit from her I wanna push and do better. I"m still getting used to the changes and timeing, soloing up to 80 as BM is a diffrent style play than raiding as MM and I really aprecaite everyone's encourgement, support and patience with me.

Thats one of the things I do enjoy about this guild. I'm an RP addict, but at teh same time everyone, since my joining has been so helpful and encouraging. Teaming with me and taking me on raids (even though I shoudln't have been there to begin with), helping me get geared, etc, etc, I really enjoy and am happy to be a part of it.

Aracna,

As requested, I took another look at your gear since I see you logged out while in your raiding gear. Only a couple of suggestions:

You are still way over on +hit (421). Keep questing for some trinkets to switch out to help reduce that! Smile I know that once the gear starts all being 251/264 there is nothing we can do besides be over on hit, there are some changes you can make to reduce your hit closer to 263 and get more benefit from your gear.

Weapon - You should be aiming for a 2H weapon over level 219. Also, if you can find one with less/no hit, that would be a good thing to look for. Hit those sweet ICC 5 man heroics for a new 2H weapon.

Belt - You have a 219 belt also. I personally like the idea to get the frost 264 belt, or you can hit the ICC 5 man heroics for a sweet 232 belt. (Rotted Fingernails belt. Eeeeww!)

Gems - You are still trying to hit the socket bonuses and shouldn't be. Besides the head meta requirements (which I strongly suggest be a nightmare tear in your hat), you should aim conpletely for +20 agility in all sockets.

Your glyphs and talents are bugged out on armory, so.. I presume these are fine!

Keep practicing your shot priorities and timing!

- Phoro.
