Ruins of Ahn'Qiraj ((20))

While the wowwiki Ruins of Ahn'Qiraj guide suggests Nature Resist as helpful, I have found that it need not be a great concern until we brave the Temple of Ahn'Qiraj.

High damage output would be more valuable to us than Nature Resistance, in my opinion.
The exception is Ayamis the Hunter where one highly nature resistant ranged dps is required to hold her aggro in phase one. However, we can choose not to fight her until we have one such hunter or mage.

I believe that our goal should be to successfully defeat Kurinnaxx and then focus on moving past General Rajaxx.

Nature Protection Potions can be very helpful during the Rajaxx battle, as the waves of Swarmguards have a nasty sting and cause quite a bit of chaos. Perhaps this is something that you, Oryx, and other alchemists will be able to assist with when we reach that point.

Finally:
Required for the General Rajaxx battle: Reputation Cenarion Circle: Friendly

When we face General Rajaxx, we will be assisted by Lt. General Andorov along with four elite soldiers.

--> Lt. General heals the entire raid for 200 hitpoints every 3 seconds, and increases casting speed and attack power by 10%. This makes the fight a lot easier. Healers can focus on healing Lt. General and tanks while dps gets some very good healing. The Lt. General will cast the buff on everyone in the raid who is FRIENDLY OR HIGHER WITH CENARION HOLD.

I strongly encourage any Tribemates at all interested in exploring the Ruins to gain the trust of the Cenarion Circle. It will be very important for our raid to fully benefit from Andorov's healing aura. Here is a guide on tasks for the Cenarion Circle, in order to gain their friendship.

Also, here is Efluvia's lovely guide to the Ahn'Qiraj Ruins.

Per Ulfric's post I added a poll to Sounds original post. Please use it instead of multiple "Me too!" posts in the thread.

Thanks Evie!

I'd be interested in more adventures into, well... anywhere, actually. However, I cannot attend anything that starts before 8pm server time during the week. My office hours are 10-7, so the only time I can ever do ZG/MC is when I have the day off for whatever reason. Sad

But anyway, if we start doing AQ20 on the weekends, I'd attend whenever I could, sure! (I still need to finish my Onyxia key stuff so I can do that too.)

The biggest problem is that I just don't have time right now. After Thanksgiving comes and goes, though, I'm sure I will definitely want to.

due to lack of time I didn't read all the posts so if i sound redundant sorry...

IMO: AQ 20 at this point in time is still not something Ironsong should be worrying about. We are doing very well in MC and should continue to consentrate on that instance. After MC we ahould start looking forward to BWL, its the next instance in dificulty after MC and should be our next target.

now Im not saying that you cant do AQ20 by all means now that the tribe is getting geared up more we should have an easier time at it, but I think I would rather continue the way we are going, and start preparing for BWL.

Oryxto answer your question; Nature resist in AQ is no different that FR in MC some will say its manditory some will say dont bother. all in all it depends on what class you are and how well geared you are. but seeing as how easy it is to get NR gear I would recommend that everyone get at least a 100 NR just to help out that little bit.
our enemies will not know we are there till my sword is sticking out threw their chests.

It's been a while since I have been on Silver Hand, so I can't really comment a great deal on where the Tribe should be at in Raid Progression, but I would have to agree with Utsu on at least the point regarding the nature resist.

I was part of Cardboard Tube Samurai on Muradin for the past 5 months. We were clearing MC in one night, ZG in less than a couple hours, up to Nef in BWL in one night (if we didn't clear it), AQ 20 clears in a night, and were about halfway through AQ 40 when Naxx came out and consumed 75% of the guilds time (which btw, Naxx is a great raid Wink ).

So why did I say all that? Not to toot my own horn, believe me, I was a rather insignificant part of that guild, but rather I said it to help reinforce the following, Nature Resist gear is VERY helpful in AQ20 and pretty much mandatory in AQ40. The 100 NR suggestion from Utsu is a great foundation, the healers will most certainly wish you had more when the raid gets sprayed by Ayamiss' for 1k+ twice a minute.

Regarding NR gear - I really don't want people to stress about this at this time. Continue working on your FR gear. We are downing Rags and Onyxia and even oneshotting them now but a lot of people could have higher quality FR gear and make these fights even easier and faster for us. We really put a lot of pressure on raid leaders and healers to beat Ragnaros if we aren't Fire Resistant enough. Also, several fights in BWL will be made simpler by FR gear and at least one or two is as demanding on FR gear as Rags in their own ways.

I'd like to see people working on BWL attunements, Onyxia keys (and rolling on Scales if you don't have Ony cloaks) and high quality FR gear for now. NR gear will be useful in the future it's true, but you'll find the FR of much greater immediate utility with what we are doing /now/.

Anyhow, I'm not contradicting Makimo or Utsu by saying this, just want to encourage people to get on top of one thing before mentally moving on to the next. I got Shillatae up to 200+ unbuffed FR and I'm still working to improve it - not by getting a higher FR total but by replacing the lower level items or those with little besides FR with higher quality FR gear that gives me useful stats as well. Note that when I was first pushing toward 200 FR I did it largely without MC gear - for a long time I only had a couple of pieces of Prophecy and that was it. My luck has long since turned around but it can be done.

I won't take this further off-topic. My point is that even if someone starts up an AQ20 run for folks to have some fun with, you won't need Nature resist gear as soon or as much as you do still need FR for our MC and Ony runs. Kurinaxx and Rajaxx don't require NR. If you have it - cool! If not, don't worry about it. You know, like Magmadar or Jek'lik for FR gear. Not everyone uses it.

XOXOX,
Tae

Absolutely, I did not mean to make it seem as though everyone must rush out and scrounge up every bit of NR gear they can get their hands on. It is most certainly not something to stress over, it's just helpful to have. Iffin you find yourself able to pick some up, go for it, if not, meh, just means you have to work a little harder on some of the fights Wink

Makimo, I understood what you posted and stated that I was not contradicting you, no need to clarify. Thank you for your thoughtful and informed post.
