Well my first pally was holy specced, but for now i'm enjoying the ret build. Even though it is better for leveling. Plus running around with Elphonse who is holy spec, it works out for tanking while he can jump back to heal if needed. And yes it IS quite exciting to see Seal of Command proc which happens to be fairly often for me. Now the other thought was, do ret builds normally get imp retribution aura? or put pts into other needed talents. I would imagine so since the other builds have imp (insert aura) of some kind. Didn't know if it ended up being a big boost though to be worth it.

oh shoot. forgot about sanctity aura. That sounds like it would be better if you have other paliles with you and Ret aura would be for solo...or if you have another ret pally in group i guess. what's the thoughts about sanctity aura?

If you spec the two extra points for santuary its very nice for tanking groups. A holy smite priest would love you as well with that aura.

Generally, you'll roll with Sanctity Aura over Retribution Aura. Honestly, the Imp. Ret Aura is really only good in PVP vs. Rogues and Fury Warriors. That's 30 damage each time they hit you, rather than 15.

If you're looking for builds, this would be my recommendation (to 60) for Holy:
<!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/info/classes/paladin/talents.html?055031015201305310500000000000000000000000520300100000000000000">http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/info/cla ... 0000000000</a><!-- m -->

And this is what I'd suggest for Ret:
<!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/info/classes/paladin/talents.html?055000000000000000000000000000000000000000520305110033125031051">http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/info/cla ... 3125031051</a><!-- m -->

I won't offer any opinion about Protection, since I don't have personal experience with the new tree.

Of course, my opinions are worth exactly what you're paying for 'em. Keep that in mind. ;-)

Both of those specs are actually rather intelligent. I'm specced for most of what you've got in Retribution and it works fine enough by me for leveling.

There's always room for tweaking. Some folks swear by Eye for an Eye, for example. That's part of the fun!

Just a little build I made that looked good to me.

If we ever do raiding anymore, I'd have to say that holy tree is the way to go. It has some really good talents for healing. Protection tree looks very cool and there's some sweet stuff in there. But, it's hard for me to think of a time that I'd need to be a tank. I'm either going to be healing or doing damage. Heck, even if I am the tank, I could just heal myself. So holy and retribution for me.

Concerning seal of command, I've started to hate it. If it doesn't proc during a fight, its basically fighting without a seal. Also, your seal of command can miss. This has really turned me off towards it. Seal of righteousness is much better for pve and grinding. I love the consistent damage it offer. The reason I picked it up in my build would be only for pvp. Burst damage is a neccesity in pvp and thus you need seal of command. Other than a pvp tool, it's fairly useless.

It used to be much better. It, along with Windfury, got nerfed a while back.
