Oh wow, and not apparently mages are getting the royal plate gauntlet slap in the face with this patch too.

Frost nova will now, according to test, break on ANY cri (not just a mage spell crit, any player's crit against the nova'd target)t. I feel sorry for all the frost-specced mages who rely on shatter.

Heck, i rely on frost nova enough as it is sometimes.

Shatter mages have been around for a LONG time, and i was one for the longest time too when i was pvping. The realy whining only started when people started getting ice-lanced to death (and, granted, shatter combined with the icelance spell and other frost taletns was pretty over the top -- a big reason i never went that route, because i knew they'd change it).

So what do they do? Change ice lance (y'know, like maybe NOT have the spell affected by shatter maybe?), no, they b0rk frost mages by changing frost nova and nerfing shatter into the ground.

II'm arcane/fire though. Just wait until more and more of us start pouring out of the woodwork. We'll be nerfed too.

---

Hopefully i'll still be a viable druid tank though! (since tanking is more about knowing what to do and when and using your abilities to their fullest, and not just mashing 1 or 2 buttons like way too many people seem to believe)

Now Khrale just needs a nerf this patch and it'll be done.

I like Myndflame, I have to watch that video every time someone links it.

Oh, and while technicaly a hotfix and not part of the patch, also note the nerfed Wind Serpent pets for hunters. They now do less than half of the damage on a Lightning Breath shot. Good thing I never really cared for those!

The forms were working for me momentarily this morning.. A blue posted with some good news for Druids. : ) They're down again unfortunately, but here's what was said:

Quote:Last night, Blizzard made two hotfixes to Druid abilities, as they felt that the overall performance of said abilities was sub-par for tanking Druids after the changes in 2.0.10.

Hotfix 3/06/07

* The Druid ability Lacerate will now land a small amount of instant damage, causing it to generate threat against bleed-immune creatures.

* The Druid ability Mangle (Bear) will now generate 50% bonus threat.

Additional explanation for these fixes and information on Armor:

We’ve taken a close look at constructive feedback provided on our Druid Bear changes, and are hotfixing the following changes today:

1. Lacerate will now do a small amount of direct damage to the target. This means it will generate threat rather than an immune message when used on bleed-immune creatures. However, bleed-immune creatures will still not receive the debuff from Lacerate. This should address concerns about Druids being able to tank in specific bleed-immune encounters.

1. Mangle (Bear) now generates 50% bonus threat on its damage. We realized that in reducing Mangle damage, we made it less useful as a snap aggro tool. This threat bonus moves it back up to almost where it was before the 2.0.10 changes.

In addition, we examined concerns about the best Feral Druid armor pieces being outdoor world quest rewards, and Druids feeling their tanking ability would not scale with better gear. We are adjusting superior and epic leather pieces designed to be used by Bear Druids and increasing the armor on many of those items, particularly raid sets. These changes, however, will not show up until patch 2.1.0.

Huzzah! This is actually good news for the druids, as far as the gear is concerned. And at least blizzard gave you an "adhesive medical strip" after beating you senseless with the nerf stick...

So, Blizzard complains that Hot fixes are expensive, but then uses one when it was obvious that the changes they were making were taking it to far? Sigh.
