Since I know many people in the tribe have been influenced to play WoW through discovering other games simaler, I decided to post this so others can see what you've played and to have fun answering these questions!

1. What was the first video game you have ever played?
Super Mario Bros on the SNES, as far as I can remember

2. What was your first console?
SNES

3. Have you ever visited a video game arcade?
Yes, I played classic Frogger and Pac-man. Good times.

4. What was your first handheld?
Nintendo DS, before they made all the remakes. Yes, I ran around with a clunky one.

5. What was the first game you've beaten/cleared completely?
Super Mario Bros.

6. Games based off of real sports: Yay or Nay?
Nay. I don't care for sport games at all.

7. Online games: Yay or Nay?
Yay!

8. Puzzle/Strategy games: Yay or Nay?
Yay! Especially if they're strategy games disguised as RPG's or what not.

9. Do you play any Massively Multiplayer Online RPG (MMORPG) games?
Heh, yeah.

10. Do you play any virtual pet games?
I used to years and years ago.

11. Do you play any RPGs?
All the time.

12. Do you play any Platformer games?
Yes.

13. What was the first game/console/handheld of yours that stopped working?
My original Nintendo DS because I spilled water all over it.

14. Do you actually care if a game has a plot or do you just play games for the gameplay?
If it doesn't have a plot, I'm gone.

15. Name a few video game characters that are your favorites.
In no particular order: Cecil, Edgar, Celes, Locke, Cid Highwind, Tifa, Irvine, Garnet, Kuja, Yuna (X, not X-2 Yuna), Rikku, Seymour, Sora, Roxas, Riku, Link, Zelda, Yoshi, Walugi, Gordon Freeman, and Tirion Fordring. I know there has to be more, but my brain is dead.

16. Name a few series that are your favorites
Final Fantasy, World of Warcrack, Mario Kart, other various Mario Games, WarioWare, Fable, Baten Kaitos, Half-Life etc.

17. Has a video game ever made you cry?
Yes. More than once.

18. Has a video game character annoyed you so much that you wanted him/her removed from the game?
Yes.

19. Do you "pair" or "ship" characters up with one another?
Oh yeah, Cloud and Tifa were always in the same party. Aerith can go die in a lake. ...oh wait...

20. Do you write video game fanfiction?
Yup.

21. Do you draw video game fanart?
Yup.

22. Do you come up with theories on how a character came to be/what he or she would do in a situation/why he or she is moody/etc?
Of course. I like to figure those things out.

23. Are you a fanboy/fangirl of any character?
Used to be a huge Link girl, but it's died off. xD

24. Hardest Boss Battle?
Atmos of the Cosmos, Final Fantas VI. I spent MONTHS trying to get through that one.

25. Most Frustrating Boss Battle?
Once again, Atmos. A lot of the dragon bosses from FFVI got me riled up too.

26. Most Rewarding Boss Battle?
All of them.

27. Funnest Boss Battle?
Seymour Omnis, Final Fantasy X. I would do that fight again, and again, and again...

28. Most Boring Boss Battle?
Anything from FFIX

29. Boss Battle that dragged out for a long, long time?
The Aeon battle at the end of FFX. I had Yuna's grid maxed out and her Aeons were freakishly powerful. The Magus Sisters just kept healing one another and they'd one-shot my characters. Of course, you can't actually die in that fight, so it was just a long, vicious cycle. I ended up turning off the game after about 30 minutes of this.

30. Boss Battle with the coolest music?
Sephiroth (the first battle. Hey, One-Winged Angel is a neat song and all, but not as cool as the first Seph battle), Seymour Omnis, Kefka (final battle)

31. Most surprising Boss Battle?
I can't remember the name, but in the ruined world of FFVI, there was this creepy monster that flew around and engaged you in a random boss-battle on the airship. Needless to say, I never saw it coming. ._.

32. What's your all time favorite villain?
I don't have a particular favorite. I guess Seymour, but he just had so many different forms.

33. What's your all time least favorite villain?
Sephiroth. Mama's boy and completely overrated.

34. Do you ever feel sorry for the villains?
Sometimes.

35. Are there any villains that seem like they should be playing for the good guys, but aren't?
Also, sometimes. Depends on who and the situation.

36. Most malicious villain?
I'd have to toss this one to Kefka.

37. Most surprising villain?
Kales from Baten Kaitos.

38. What is your all-time favorite 2D Game? (Genesis/SNES generation)
Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past

39. What's your favorite 3D game? (PS1/N64 generation)
Final Fantasy VII. It may be overrated, but it's what got me into RPG's to begin with.

40. What's your favorite arcade game?
Frogger!

41. What's your favorite next-gen game? (Wii/PS3/Xbox360)
Loving Mario Kart Wii right now.

42. Sequels/long series: Yay or nay?
Not really a fan of sequels. Long series differ depending on what it is.

43. What's your favorite Online Game?
World of Warcrack, it's the only MMO I play

My old PS2...or maybe the Wii.

My DS.

46. Have you ever got yourself involved in a "console war"?
Nope. I try to split my love evenly.

Yes, but I can't remember specific arguments. Probably something about how people think Aerith likes Cloud for Cloud and not the fact that he's stealing Zack's identity. Oh, and I will argue with all the VII fanboys that VII was *not* the first FF. Go suck it.

Everyone I know seems to either enjoy a game I like or never heard of it.

Kuja, villain of IX. Only a true man could pull off a look that feminine. xD

Final Fantasy VIII, not because it was frustrating but because it was sooooo f'in boring.

Nah, I'm usually to lazy to get the 100%

54. Have you ever injured yourself at a video game?
Dance Dance Revolution. Yes, I used to be big into it.

55. Has a horror/survival genre video game scared you to the point that you refused to finish the game? Did you get nightmares from said game?
Half-Life 2. Didn't get nightmares, just couldn't finish Ravenholm

56. Have you ever thrown a controller/disc/cartridge in a fit of frustration?
Yes. ._.

57. Do you need to blow/clean certain games to get them to play?
My FFX disc has scratches on it. ;_;

58. Have you ever played a game for so long that you missed sleep over it?
Totally wasn't WoW...totally wasn't...

59. Were you ever involved in the Pokemon craze?
No, but I do have one Pokemon game because my friend was addicted to it and said I should get it.

60. Last, but not least: Do you picture yourself playing video games 10, 20, or even 30 years from now?
Of course. I intend to see all those wonderful ideas, even as I get older.

I love turn-based strategy games! Master of Orion (and 2), Civ, Master of Magic, etc.

Obviously.

10. Do you play any virtual pet games?
I had a keychain Neopet at one time, but I grew bored with it.

11. Do you play any RPGs?
DnD (all 4 editions), MechWarrior, Twilight 2K, Space Frontiers, Gamma World, Rifts, Robotech RPG, Shadowrun, and I'm sure there's a few others I'm forgetting. Note: I don't currently play all of these.

12. Do you play any Platformer games?
Yes.

13. What was the first game/console/handheld of yours that stopped working?
So far, I have yet to have any stop working on me, thankfully.

14. Do you actually care if a game has a plot or do you just play games for the gameplay?
For most games, a plot is a must.

Minsc (Baldur's Gate series) - "Go for the eyes, Boo!"

Honestly don't remember, but it's possible.

The crazy Russian, oops, sorry, Zaftran gal from Front Mission 4. She's about the only one I can think of off the top of my head.

If they're written well, yes.

35. Are there any villains that seem like they should be playing for the good guys, but aren't?
Can't think of any.

Master of Monsters (think it was Sega Genesis)

39. What's your favorite 3D game? (PS1/N64 generation)
Final Fantasy Tactics or maybe Front Mission 3.

40. What's your favorite arcade game?
There was a vector graphic Star Trek game you controlled the Enterprise, flying around destroying enemy ships, and you had to dock at a space station to repair damage and get more photon torps. Also loved Gauntlet.

41. What's your favorite next-gen game? (Wii/PS3/Xbox360)
Mario Kart Wii is a good bit of fun - even if my son does kick my tush.

42. Sequels/long series: Yay or nay?
If the writing is well done, sure.

43. What's your favorite Online Game?
I've come back to WoW; it has a lot to offer that makes the overall experience more fun. If Star Trek Online or Anarchy Online were to take some tips from Blizzard, they could easily draw me back, I think.

My console tends to gather dust if I'm at home.

PSP (it's my only).

The piezo speaker somehow actually broke inside my Pac-Man watch. It was still playable but no more awesome beeping. I was disppointed. That, or my Atarii 2600 that I later fixed (turned out to be relatively minor, though I did disassemble it). My aunt had already given me hers to replace it, so I had 2! Worst was the Coleco Vision that died probably from static from being slid across the carpet too much.

14. Do you actually care if a game has a plot or do you just play games for the gameplay?
Gameplay gameplay gameplay. If what I'm doing isn't fun, what's the point?

Si Ma Yi, Destiny of an Emperor -- Never got past it. He wasn't even a final boss.

At the end of Zelda: Wind Waker when you had to fight all the bosses over again. Not necessarily hard, but stupid.

26. Most Rewarding Boss Battle?
Lich King... but I haven't killed him yet

27. Funnest Boss Battle?
Probably some of the WoW ones. The problem with most video game bosses is they boil down to one gimmick, usually based on a trick you learned on the previous level.

28. Most Boring Boss Battle?
Probably doing all the bosses over again at the end of Wind Waker.

29. Boss Battle that dragged out for a long, long time?
I remember learning Ebonroc in BWL. We had a failed attempt that went on for like 26 minutes because he kept self healing. The successful attempt that followed it I believe was over 20 minutes as well.

30. Boss Battle with the coolest music?
Probably something from Final Fantasy 7.

31. Most surprising Boss Battle?
I remember one of the Jedi Knight games. The final boss was supposedly this really tough guy you had to do in a specific way to kill him. I learned that after I ran up and 2 shot him with my lightsaber. I was shocked.

32. What's your all time favorite villain?
Donkey Kong was pretty classic.

33. What's your all time least favorite villain?
"Sephiroth. Mama's boy and completely overrated." -- This.

34. Do you ever feel sorry for the villains?
Sometimes.

36. Most malicious villain?
The first guy you are sent to assassinate in Assassin's Creed 1. The guy he knifed to death was the single most brutal scene I recall seeing in a video game.

Bowser... the princess is in *another* fricken castle?!

38. What is your all-time favorite 2D Game? (Genesis/SNES generation)
Screw those 16-bit platforms.

I played Dreamcast in those days. Ready 2 Rumble and Vigilate 8 were pretty good.

I would love to have a Star Wars or Addam's Family pinball machine.

Batman: Arkham Asylum was pretty darn good

42. Sequels/long series: Yay or nay?
As long as it's a well thought out sequel and not a quick cash-in I'm all for it.

Must be WoW. It's by far the one I've spent the most time with.

Of all time, Coleco Vision. Though the current Xbox360 is pretty great except for the constant fear of RRoD.

I'll go with Gameboy since that is the one I played the most.

I remember doing a compare contrast essay paper for Composition class in my first year of college. My topic, Super Nintendo vs. Sega Genesis. I was pro SNES since I always hated the Genesis and its godawful controller. Not as bad as Intellivision but still hated it.

WoW, everyone loves to hate it, but they can't stop playing it.

Usually if I stop, it's because I get too bored

No, I'm a 90%er. I will complete the story but won't worry about collecting all the secret items and whatnot.

Playing melee classes hurts my poor hands. And then there was that one time as a teen that I was a little frustrated with some Nintendo game and picked up my glass with a little too much... enthusiasm. There was plenty of blood.

Nah.

Yes, but I try to contain myself in my old age.

No, but I used to have to clean rented Nintendo game cartridges with alcohol to get them to work.

The ending of Legend of Dragoon, for the PS1. Play it.
I cried because it is implied at the very end, that two of the characters, old lovers, were finally reunited in death. ...I was also pretty young back then.

Pretty sure I once tried to fight out one of those unwinnable battles for hours though, and raged like you wouldn't believe when I lost, and found out I was supposed to, though. Does that count?

25. Most Frustrating Boss Battle?
Either Skeith from .hack//INFECTION or Riku from KH.
...or that one from LoD that only let you go if you said the right thing when it asked your party various questions to judge their intentions and valor and all that. Don't really remember it.

26. Most Rewarding Boss Battle?
Dunno.

Can't think of one.

Pretty sure I purged it from my memory.

Pretty sure there was once in Disgaea in an optional area...
Attack > heal > attack > heal > attack > replenish sp and hope you survive > heal > heal > repeat.

I tend not to remember the audio, actually. T~T

31. Most surprising Boss Battle?
I can barely remember the game, (I'm still trying to find it again, and can't remember the name) but it was a random battle in a temple area, and the mob started talking to me.
When I beat it, it joined my party.

32. What's your all time favorite villain?
Pretty sure that'd be Albedo from Xenosaga. He was so pleasantly insane...

33. What's your all time least favorite villain?
I've had a few. : /

34. Do you ever feel sorry for the villains?
If I do, I probably don't consider them a villain. (even if they are)

35. Are there any villains that seem like they should be playing for the good guys, but aren't?
Again, I don't consider them a villain then.

...can't remember his name.

37. Most surprising villain?
In one (and only one) of the Drakengard endings, when your dragon partner reveals that she'd been using you all along.
After she all but says she loves you in the first ending, I very nearly cried.
But I didn't.

Don't think I have one. Probably a Mario.

39. What's your favorite 3D game? (PS1/N64 generation)
If Dreamcast doesn't count, then Legend of Dragoon.
If I CAN pick a dreamcast game, Grandia II.

Atari 2600 (Space Invaders and ET), Commodore 64 (Pit Stop) which used a cassette tape thing, and Choplifter

I played these at friends' houses. We never owned a computer or console of our own when I was growing up. I was pretty insufferable, though, asking my friends if I could play with their videogames all the time.

I've never owned one.

3. Have you ever visited a video game arcade?
Yes, but only to watch over peoples' shoulders. I never actually played one myself. Couldn't justify spending the quarter.

4. What was your first handheld?
Some weird off-brand thing. I desperately wanted a Mario hand-held game and campaigned diligently for one for Christmas, but my folks got me a cheaper knock-off. It was okay, not great. It involved shooting witches on broomsticks. It was weird.

I played hand-held Mario games at other peoples' houses -- one involved moving boxes on conveyor belts at a factory. Another hand-held game involved moving a stretcher to bounce babies from a burning building to an ambulance. I loved these.

5. What was the first game you've beaten/cleared completely?
Erm, I don't think I played many games that could be "finished." Most just got harder until I ran out of lives.

Once I got my own computer in college I played a lot of Mac-based games: Spectre, Columns, Tetris, Texris, Lemmings, Master of Orion, Civ, Sim City.

I won games of Master of Orion and Civ, but that doesn't seem to be quite the answer the question is looking for.

I tried other Sim games like Sim Earth, Sim Life, Sim Ant... but none of these had the playability of Sim City. I tried the Sims for one day and then never played again -- I was weirded out by the circularity of playing someone living an ordinary life, paying bills and cooking and having a job. I do that already IRL.
