Healing Through Gruul
#16
Gruul doesn't gain frenzy, or even enrage. He gains an innate buff called Grow (number) that increases his damage output as time progresses at intervals. There is no way to get rid of this. There are several other bosses that do this as well such as the werewolf boss in UD strat just before the abominations. It's a mechanic of a fight they include to put it on a timer of sorts that isn't berserk and that actually makes the fight very dynamic.

yeah, the one that turns back into a human when he dies. kinda looks like a wierd zombie actually, like a Frankenstein, but since he metamorphs I always thought of him as a werewolf. He drops the key to the city.

Improved Expose Armour (-3000 armour for Gruul)(Means tanks won't benefit from sunder/devestate)

You hit the nail on the head right there (at least for why they call this talent improved group wipe) =) Being unable to sunder at all for 30 seconds means that anyone can pull agro. I'm praying that sometime in the near future, they will flag this ability as a stacking effect with sunder, but I honestly hold up little hope for that. For now, its just used for non warrior tanks and pvp. (i don't even use it soloing anymore)

I was talking tonight with some contacts I have alliance side who one-shot Gruul pretty regularly. They say their tanks run with about 15,000 unbuffed health. Also, they down Gruul between growth 12 and 15, whereas we tend to wipe around growth 10. This reinforces how important it is for us to keep the tanks up during these crucial last stages. Jaba's initial suggestion of healing rotations that switch out at 50% mana was a good one. I think we should start thinking in terms of massive overheals.

15k unbuffed health takes a bit for a warrior to do as well. when I had all of my HP gear on I was riding around with 14.4k. I've been told the only way to do it is scrap all gems but the +12 stamina ones.

You know better than I do what you need for the fight, man. My point was just that we need to keep you meatheads alive longer. If it helps, Mercurial is their MT. He's good people, and I'm sure he'd be happy to discuss the fight if you wanted to.

He's at about 14.6, with some gems that aren't straight Stam.

And boo to changing the raid time without posting anything Sad

Does Gruul ever miss with his attacks? Would it be worthwhile for one of the hunters to keep him Scorpid stung? Additional 5% change to miss.

And did you see the profile of the gnome warrior with over two million health posted on the forums?
