I have Aarloouoou at 70, but not keyed, and a Hunter. But I also have Vosiri at 64 and Billi at 57, so It won't take me to long to get either of those up to a level they could heal.

Well, seems like we've got plenty of interest. My little tankadin is still 62, so it'll be a little while before I can jump in and tank Kara. I can get Bendon keyed fairly quickly, but he's a rogue DPS, so.. yeah. Seems like we might be short tanks, but we'll see how it goes I guess.

Kosath, or other officers, is this something you guys want to organize? I don't mind doing it, but since it's a guild thing, I also don't mind dumping the work on an officer

I'm not currently going to be leading any raids or what have you, but I will remind folks that running a regular scheduled content event like this for the Tribe for at least three sessions is how one achieves the rank of Raider. ::grins:: Just sayin'!

Ooooh, does that come with a pay increase?

I'm happy to do the organizational junk, but as long as this happens, I don't much care who gives the orders. My paladin is only 62 (but trying to level him fast), so he won't be 70 for a bit yet, and then he'll have to get geared for Kara, which'll take a bit more time.

Maybe starting with Attumen and the Animal bosses might be a good idea? Moroes is a pretty big step up from Attumen.

Efluvious is free this week (not locked into a raid) so there's a tank.

Please believe that I am not trying to be difficult here, but while the enthusiasm of our established raiders to help teach newcomers is great, has anyone responded who actually wants to learn Karazhan? And if we have 8 or 9 established raiders (on mains or alts) and only one or two new folks, how is this any different from what is already happening each week?

A teaching raid should have a substantial number of new folks. I'm not sure what the magic number is, but I'd think you'd want at least half of the participants to be new to Kara.

And in reply to my own post....

What just occurred to me is that maybe it's not just about people new to Karazhan but about people new to certain roles in Karazhan. So if someone who normally plays a DPS caster has an up and coming tank, they could learn from Efluvious how to tank the various pulls. Or if someone wants to learn the ins and outs of healing in Kara with their new baby priest, they could do that, too.

At first it may very well consist of a ton of folk who know Karazhan better than the back of their hand, Psion, but I'd suggest giving this idea enough time to lift off the ground with continually occurrence-- you might be surprised how many others it could lure out of the shadows. The quieter, more hesitant raiders of the Tribe (which I was a part of for quite a long time) fall often in the pool of those having yet to see Kara.. and it might take more than mere discussion and talk about this idea (which isn’t bad at all!) but actual solid action to spew ‘em forth. Also keep in mind Logros mentioned involving a few other guilds into this idea if possible and many of those can't see this thread, so you're only really seeing IST's input about it atm.

And I don't think there's any harm with starting off with a handful of experienced folk to help guide the way to a slightly less painful repair bill, is there?

I was actually under the impression that this thread was for those... er... experienced raiders (from a current group) who would be willing to participate in a learning raid, and that the other thread by Greyfith was for those that may not already be part of one of the groups.

Hence the "Who'd Help" topic title Wink

This is the thread for folks who want to go, but aren't currently in a group.

Thogut posted here mentioning that HW raiding has fizzled, so we might pick a few up there too.
