Class Spec Leads

It's been discussed, but not implemented. One of the blues suggested it might go into a post-WotLK patch (don't have a link handy to that comment, alas).

That is my understanding. But I am not really up on what's what. This was just something I remember being discussed a couple months ago as something that was coming with the expansion or just before.

Dergash has been Affliction spec since he was first created, and until his recent respec for Raiding has always been Affliction spec. I spend a lot of time researching various information on Affliction Warlocks through various forums and class sites, as well as asking tons of questions to any Warlocks I can corner. I also tend to do a lot of my own experimentation on talent setups and gear choices. For the upcoming Wrath of the Lich King expansion I intend to respec Dergash back to Affliction for leveling and to determine it viability long term in raiding.

mmm, Pandemic. Yus, affliction locks should be viable long term. gogo scaling Big Grin

not to discourage anyone, but I'd say it might be a good idea to have class spec leads be of the 70 (soon to be 80) or high level persuasion.

Most people look to spec leads for tips on getting to the high level then preparing for endgame. My personal opinion is that a spec lead, although not required to have the *best* gear, should be a template for a successful "work in progress"

Actually, this might be good for you, you can research all of the abilities and talents, gather info from Elitest Jerks determine the truth behind the raw numbers, find how our roll system works (the last thing I heard is that it is changing to a two roll system, which is probably bad for fury with that 15% increased miss chance to specials) and what stats to stack. You'll know your class inside and out. The best way to learn something is to have to teach it to others.

Wait, we have a 15% chance to miss on specials if Fury? Or is that come LK? See, this is how little I know...

The 15% miss chance is from Titan's Grip when wielding 2h weapons in one hand.

Look at Titan's Grip. The wording makes me think that this will not affect Bloodthirst however because you can use Bloodthirst without a weapon. But 15% increased miss with heroic strike, Whirlwind, and any other ability that requires a weapon. And I'm not sure Fanae, but it looks like the 15% miss chance is even when you are using one handed weapons. It doesn't specify that it is only when you are wielding 2handers, it just says a flat 15% miss chance on abilities that require a weapon.

Seems to affect all weapons.

A plus (in the long run) is that if we stack hit rating to eliminate our misses on specials (used to be 9%, now it's 24%, and white hits are 28% duelwielding on bosses) means that we'll be closer to not missing our white attacks. Can you say TONS O' RAGE?

So it actually makes things worse if you're using one-handed weapons for some reason? That seems a little bit ridiculous.

Yus. They say that fury's dps is a bit low right now, but it will get better with gear. They might rebalance it too. But for now, Titan's grip has good and bad in it. Jivundus will probably level prot, I am thinking to do so as well then go from there at 80, speccing as needed, sort of like now.

I should probably mention here as well that I'm happy to help out with anyone's enhancement questions.
