By Eonia Attaboli

In the darkest corner of the night
One lone Troll stood up to fight
'Back to the wall she faced her foe
drew her wand and gave it a go

She fought just and she fought true
She fought with one, and then with two
As the enemies came and came on fast
She wondered how just One, could last

Would she survive the attacks at hand?
Would this be her final stand?
But as she fought their numbers dwindled
And at once her hope rekindled

For to her left and to her right
The Ironsongs too, fought with all their might
Is this what friendship should truely mean?
For the HORDE! For Ironsong! For the Furry, the elvish and the green!

((This was patterned after a nonsensical children's limerick I feel inclined to share as well. It always makes me smile. Don't know who wrote it but my mom used to recite it to me and my brothers when we were young.))

One fine day in the middle of the night,
Two dead boys* got up to fight,
Back to back they faced each other,
Drew their swords and shot each other,

One was blind and the other couldn't, see
So they chose a dummy for a referee.
A blind man went to see fair play,
A dumb man went to shout "hooray!"

A paralysed donkey passing by,
Kicked the blind man in the eye,
Knocked him through a nine inch wall,
Into a dry ditch and drowned them all,

A deaf policeman heard the noise,
And came to arrest the two dead boys,
If you don't believe this story’s true,
Ask the blind man he saw it too!

To the tune of 'Big rock candy mountain'

In the Black Rock Candy Mountain
There's a raid that's full of fright,
Where the gear drops from the monsters,
And you sleep with fear at night.
Where the fish feasts are all empty
And the fire burns ev'ry day
Oh, I'm bound to go where there ain't no snow
Where the rain don't fall and the wind don't blow
In the Black Rock Candy Mountain.

Oh, the gnawin'€™ of the worm in the lava streams
'Round the molten candy fountain,
Where the dragon sings and the night elf screams
In the Black Rock Candy Mountain.

In the Black Rock Candy Mountain
You never change your socks
And little streams of "€œlemonade"
Come a-tricklin' down the rocks.
The golems there aren'€™t friendly,
And their defenses are all tight
There's Arcanotron, Electron, Magmatron and Toxitron, too;
You can go '€˜round the Overlook in a big ol'€™ group
In the Black Rock Candy Mountain.

Oh, the gnawin’ of the worm in the lava streams
'Round the molten candy fountain,
Where the dragon sings and the human screams
In the Black Rock Candy Mountain.

In the Black Rock Candy Mountain
You'll wish you stayed at home
When you face Chimaeron
Who has eaten lots of gnomes;
And then there's Atramedes,
Who cannot see a thing;
He hears everything you do, and will turn you to goo;
And Maloriak's stew is just waiting for you
In the Black Rock Candy Mountains.

Oh, the gnawin' of the worm in the lava streams
'Round the molten candy fountain,
Where the dragon sings and the Draenei screams
In the Black Rock Candy Mountain.

In the Black Rock Candy Mountain
There Nefarion'€™s playing host.
With licorice scales and polished nails
You'll most likely become a ghost.
And your flasks are now all empty,
And there's no meat for the dragon feast.
Oh, And Onyxia'€™s back to cut ya no slack,
And more than just that, there are adds there to hack
In the Black Rock Candy Mountain.

Oh, the gnawin' of the worm in the lava streams
'Round the molten candy fountains,
Where the dragon sings and the Dwarves all scream
In the Black Rock Candy Mountain.

((A poem explaining why the library burned up, yet again.))

The candle light flickered as it licked up the wax;
The undead slept and dreamed from the past.

The demons, they came and clogged memories of life--
Plagued shadows of death approached his lone wife.

Their child inside, stirred...sensing danger draw near.
The haunted one's love saw them and cowered in fear.

He reached out and ran down a small winding path;
The plague demons attacked with unstoppable wrath.

His dear child cried from within his wife's womb;
The shadows consumed her in a harrowing tomb.

The undead screamed out--angst turning to rage.
She was crying his name, still alive in the cage.

The shadows held tight; her life almost gone;
Her body--it weakened, then things went all wrong.

An explosion so great, ripped out in a wave;
Each shadow consumed and sent to its grave.

His wife's form was gone, and so too was his child;
He let forth a cry, unfettered and wild.

His magic unbound escaped from his dreams,
Went forth in the night, surpassing his screams.

Months of painstaking work, now consumed by the fire;
The pages now smoldered, now bound to the pyre.

The shadows approached in descent from above;
The one named Razan still mourned for his love.

And then she was there; he held her so close;
Her touch felt so real! She wasn't a ghost!

His love in his arms dissipated like smoke;
He breathed her in and started to choke.

She was now inside, and he felt only death.
His eyes flew open; he gasped searching for breath.

There was smoke all around; he was surrounded by chaos.
He collapsed to the floor overwhelmed by the loss.

A hand on his shoulder brought him around;
He picked himself up and got up off the ground.

. . .

After the flames were put out and the smoke cleared away,
He felt himself drifting to a clear sunny day.

It was him and her in the sun on a hill;
He put the ring on her; and she said, "I will."

Lady Shandris sat in her library looking through the various battle-songs of the Sin'dorei and noted that the Ironsong tribe didn't seem to have one, Which seemed strange to her considering the orcs seemed fond of battle-songs and other rites to prepare for bloodshed. So she went to her scroll rack and procured a blank scroll went over to her desk and began writeing. She started off with a small piece of insperation that had once struck her in the midst of battle in the caverns of Serpentshrine and continued writeing as the words flowed out of her hand onto the peice of parchment. After a few minutes she set down the peice of paper and examined it, satisfied she began singing in a voice that carried on the wind and rang through the minds of those for a mile around her.

"Our arrows, our blades, our spells sing true,
So despair for Ironsong shall bring death unto you,

We've conquered Men, Dragons, and Beasts before,
Defeated the minions of death and creatures of the depths,

Our leader oft-say "Sing True!" And so we do,
With Shadow, Fire, and Light,
With Arrow, Ice, and Arcane,
With Lightning, Blade, and Claw,
Tis the death we bring that tis their bane,

I sing this song to remind you,
That the Ironsongs strength is true,
So once more I say before I'm through,
That our arrows, our blades, and our spells sing true!"

Now if you look around around it's a pretty sure bet,
that somewhere close by is a hunter with some flappy pet.

I just wonder why it is that these pets ALWAYS fly?
They flap and don't stop and I never know why!

If only they could stop when their masters just stand.
Oh how I just wish that these creatures could land.

They flap and they flap all day and all night
and sometimes I think that it's really not right!

In Azeroth there must be plenty of places to stand.
After all there is definitely plenty of land,
and all over the land there is plenty of sand!

Now if only these pets could just land in the sand,
then they could just stand...that would be totally grand!

But even if sand is not a great place to land,
then I'm sure there are plenty more places to stand...

They could stand on the grass, they could stand on a rock,
they could stand on a troll they could perch on a clock.

They could stand on a log they could stand on a rail,
they could perch on a druid tree...or a Tauren's fine tail.

They could land on a stump or or a fallen down trunk,
they could even land on the shoulder of some Forsaken chump.

I guess I must endure while these creatures just flap.
As I raid there is a constant "whap-whappity-whap!"

As I moot, their wings just won't ever stop.
As I make my speeches those critters just continue to "whop!"

They "Whop" and they "whop" and they "whop-whop-whop-whop!"

Dear Blizzard, by letter I'm pleading! I beg!
Just PLEASE give these creatures a couple of legs.

I really don't think I am asking too much,
for when most things stand still then the ground they do touch.

I really don't ask you to do this just for me,
but think of the pets and a thing called "gravity."

Please let the poor owls just come down to rest,
let the dragonhawks perch, let the birds make a nest.

Flying serpents could coil, and whelps could finally come down,
and all those flying bugs could stop buzzing around.

As I look around at these pets, all I see,
are some animals that look pretty tired to me.

Dear Blizzard I know this will surely put your skills to the test,
but if these creatures could just stop flapping...

...they just might get some rest!

(To the Tune of "Bad, Bad, Leroy Brown" - Jim Croce)

Oh the Southside, of Orgrammar...is the baddest part of town
and if you go down there you better be aware that there is one Orc you can't knock down

Now Kretol...is more than trouble...you see he stands about 6 foot four...all them fine orc ladies want to call him lover...all the males just call him "sir!"

And you can't, knock, Kretol down...cause he's the baddest Orc in the whole darn town
badder than ol' King Thrall...and meaner than a core hound dog!

Now Kretol...he's a gambler...and he loves his Lottery...
And he likes to wear his dragon signet ring where everyone can see

he got a custom suit of armor...he got custom maces too
he got fine Dwarven gun in his pocket for fun...he got a fine pair of dragonhide boots.

And you can't, knock, Kretol down...cause he's the baddest Orc in the whole darn town
badder than ol' King Thrall...and meaner than a core hound dog!

Well Friday, about a week ago...Kretol went with the tribe
And at the end of the hall stood a tall young maiden and oooh...that girl looked fine!

Well he cast a spell upon her...but that was when the trouble began
and Kretol soon learned his lesson about messin' with the Maiden from Karazhan

And you can't, knock, Kretol down...cause he's the baddest Orc in the whole darn town
badder than ol' King Thrall...and meaner than a core hound dog!

Well the whole group started fighting ...and when they pulled him from the grave
Kretol...looked a little more forsaken than Dispaya or Eveline!

And you can't, knock, Kretol down...cause he's the baddest Orc in the whole darn town

Badder than ol' King Thrall...and meaner than a core hound dog!

I think it's about time that the Bard recieved a dedication herself. *clears her throat* This is just a little something I wrote in appreciation of Dispaya and her contributions to the Tribe. *Mellith starts to sing, her throaty voice somehow managing to carry the tune reasonably well*

The World (of Warcraft)
((To the tune of "The World" by Brad Paisley... country music, yep.))

To the orc down at the bank
You're just another deposit box
To the raiders that came today
You're just another ice block
At the Darkmoon ticket counter
You're just another trade
At the armor shop on the Bluff
Well you're just another failed raid
Well that's alright, that's ok
If you don't feel important, dearie
All I've got to say is

To the world
You may be just another mage
But to me
‘Spaya, you are the world

To the ‘chanter in Orgrimmar
You're just another tip
To the thirsty healers in Khara
You're just another sip
When you can't get epic gear
'Cause you don't have the clout
Or you didn't get an invitation
'Cause somebody left you out
That's alright, that's ok
When you don't feel important, dearie
All I've got to say is

To the world
You may be just another mage
But to me
‘Spaya, you are the world
You think you're one of millions but you're one in a million to me
When you wonder if you matter, just look at your Tribe
And tell me, can't you see you're everything to meeee
You're just another deposit box
To the raiders that came today
You're just another ice block
At the Darkmoon ticket counter
You're just another trade
At the armor shop on the Bluff
Well you're just another failed raid
Well that's alright, that's ok
If you don't feel important, dearie
All I've got to say is

To the world
You may be just another mage
But to me
‘Spaya, you are the world

To the ‘chanter in Orgrimmar
You're just another tip
To the thirsty healers in Khara
You're just another sip
When you can't get epic gear
'Cause you don't have the clout
Or you didn't get an invitation
'Cause somebody left you out
That's alright, that's ok
When you don't feel important, dearie
All I've got to say is

To the world
You may be just another mage
But to me
‘Spaya, you are the world

You think you're one of millions but you're one in a million to me
When you wonder if you matter, just look at your Tribe
And tell me, can't you see you're everything to meeee

Part 2

'Twas the Feast of Great-Winter, when all through the Core...
not a creature was stirring, as we came through the door.

Our weapons were hung across our backs with great care...
in hopes that Lord Ragnaros soon would be there!

My tribemates were ready and eating their bread,
...while visions of purple loot danced in their heads.

We were dressed in fire resist armor, from our heads to our shoes...
we were wearing our trinkets, our purples and blues.

I pulled on my mage robe and fitted my crown...
and readied my spells for a chance to "throw-down"

Then what to my undead eyes should I see??
But a great Elemental throwing fire at me!

Then a beautiful Priestess started healing away,
and I knew in a minute it must be Shillatae!

More rapid than raptors her tribemates they came...
and she whistled and shouted and called them by name...

"Now Umu! Now Kretol! Now Krell and Akora!"
"Now Evie, Now Abbru, Dannae and Veramorla!"
"From de edge of de lava...To da cavern's great Wall...
now Slay away! Slay away! Slay away all!"

Then down to the caverns all our raiders they flew...
with a Warrior called Kosath...they took me along too!

With her commands, all our names, great Akora did shout.
Though she couldn't pronounce them...we figured her out!

We talked all the while, as we went straight to work...
cut down all the Bosses, and followed Domo (that jerk!)

Then out of the lava there arose such a splatter!
I looked all about to see what was the matter!

And there in the cavern I saw nothing but red!
Confronted by the sight of Ragnaros' big head!

The lava began shooting all over the floor...
it reflected off our Fire Resist helms, shields and swords
A great hammer he held in his hand like a mace,
and as he started to swing we could barely keep pace!

We battled and battled, til our potions were spent...
if only we could get that wretch to 30 per cent!

And then in an instant he called up his sons...
but the Singers were ready with swords, spells and guns.

Like winds of a hurricane our warriors did fly...
and when they met with a Son, each elemental would die!

But Ragnaros still stood, and he wanted us dead...
as he rose once again from his pool of fiery red!

But the Ironsong Tribe did not fear, and they went back to their mission,
throwing spells, and shooting arrows with skill and precision.
As his great hammer dropped ...we were finally done!

The Times in Azeroth are a Changin'
(Based on the Bob Dylan song)

Come gather round tribemates, wherever you roam
and admit that the world around you has grown
Soon the blood elves will come...to make Azeroth their home
...and the Dark Portal is gonna be open!
So you better get to Outland and set your hearthstone
For the times they are a-changin'

Come Hunters and warlocks, who battle with your pets
keep your eagle eyes wide, the chance won't come again
Once we reach Outland, the wheel of chance is gonna spin
and there's no telling who it will be namin'
for the times they are a changin'
Come Priests and Mages, now hear the call
Don't stand in the portal, or block the great wall
for he who gets hurt, will be he who gets stalled
our old spells are rapidly agin'
and new spells and talents, will be helping us all
For the times they are a changin'

Come Warriors and shaman throughout the land
and don't fear to go to a great strange new land
Keep your sword and your battle axe ready in hand
for the times they are a changin'
The lines are now drawn, the dice are cast
The slow one now will be leveling last
In the caverns of time, the present will be the past
our old ways are rapidly fadin'
