All the classes have their small advantages. There are ways to beat stealth.

Aye, and unless the rogue (or druid) has talents to increase their stealth speed, they'll be moving at just about a snails crawl. They'll get the Shadowprey, but it'll take them a while. Wink

The only problem I see with stealth will be to keep up with them long enough to be able to challenge them to a duel without them dissapearing again.
I'll be off that day. Woot.

I'll do either, I should be available on that day.

Only two problems I forsee.

1. A prey could just find some very very very very remote place to hide, and let someone on his team manage to get to the village.

2. On the opposite spectrum, the entire hunter team could just camp the path to the village, and duel everyone of the prey that comes past.
Yeah, well....

Don't do that.

Or I'll be upset.

Honestly, there are many ways to cheat at this game. While I recognize and appreciate how people might want to come up with ways for doing so--hell, I stake out any security system I find just for the intellectual challenge--I am making the assumption that those participating in the event will act honorably. It's been my experience in the past that, while there are some fairly easy yet obvious ways to cheat the game, people aren't willing win so cheaply. Play the game with honor, and you'll be respected for it.

So what would you say would be the boundries for what specifically is allowed, and not allowed for each teams? IE, no /who to track people, etc
I'd prefer not to see targetting macros. /who and using the social window to see where people are can be very misleading. Use it if you want to; I can't really prevent it.

Other than that, use your judgement. If you have a question on whether something is fair or not, ask me. I'll be supervising the event.
In some games clever ways to "win" are in and of themselves laudable and the sign of a superior player. In this case the game is rather less competitive than those and largely played for the experience of playing. Victory conditions mostly exist to give conflict and purpose to the play experience. Try to play "IC" as much as possible - so no /who or targetting macro spamming, etc. Within that, have your character RP a bit too - hiding doesn't get the prey into the target location and a wall of bodies close to the target location could be zerged before duel flags hit all the prey, perhaps.

This should be great fun. : )

Hunters and druids can track humanoids. I think those can see through stealth?
Better double-check that, Kyiee. Hunters can also track stealthed, but only if they see them. And I think stealthed humanoids count as stealthed, not humanoids. And cat-form druids count as beasts anyway.

*chuckles*

Man, this is gonna be fun.
I'm up for taking part on either side.

I'm afraid I have to withdraw my earlier intent to participate.
We'll be unavailable this weekend.
Alright. We have a time nailed down for this. Anyone who wishes to participate needs to be at Theldurin the Lost in the Badlands at 1:30 server time on Nov 12.

Also, the prey selection will happen this weekend. I will be choosing 2 Ironsingers and 2 Moon Ascendants to be Prey. There will also be a list of alternates. Prey and alternates will receive notification and further instructions this weekend.
Okay, I've got good news and bad news.

The good news is that we've chosen the prey. They are Krell and Jadyn of Ironsong, Midas of Moon Ascendant, and Waja of Dust (Raga of Moon Ascendant's alt). Krell will be leading the Prey team. All others who wanted to be prey are considered alternates if one of the prey can't make it. If you wish to be considered an alternate, show up with a bit of empty bag space and 10 items with your name attached (either low-level crafted items that display a "crafted by" tag in their tooltip or copies of letters sent by you).

The bad news is that I have to postpone the event a week. I'll be working all this weekend and won't have time to run it like I thought I would.

Thanks and look forward to seeing you there on the 19th at 1:30 in the Badlands!
