During the evening a writ has been somewhat forcefully (judging by the large silver dagger protruding from the door) attached to the inner side of the Tavern door.
It says quite simply;
I be Xerrik da Troll.

Some of the writing is smudged as the dagger has been recently used, and is dripping.
