Personally, I've never liked levels or seasons. Depending on the subject matter, I try to RP with an aspect of my character. For instance, Vor isn't yet experienced enough (at level 65) for, say, Kharazan, or isn't strong enough to take down a mob that's an elite and five levels higher. Being a shaman, instead of using levels or seasons, I use attunement to the elements. Of course, it's all in what an individual prefers. I've even considered not roleplaying that whole aspect of the game altogether, my only issue there being that it is an element of the game that is restricting on roleplay.

As far as Mellith's bringing up the roleplay in guildchat thing, I've always had kind of a problem with that, especially when people make it out like they're all in the same "hall" (For example, where is said "guild hall" anyways?) when really they're scattered throughout the world... both worlds, these days. I guess the "guild hall" thing works for most, but I just never could get cozy with the idea. Never could play it off as an aspect of being a shaman either because not every class has any involvement with elements or nature, things that might, on a far stretch, allow for conversations between many people in many different areas in a matter of seconds. Now I just kind of view guild chat as something entirely seperate from what my character is really doing, which even still isn't completely satisfiying enough for myself.

All in all, the game isn't perfect, but we all do our best to make the best out of it, which is why I gave up on the "nitpicking" some time ago... until now that is... MORE NITPICKING TO COME!!! Wink
I've always thought as guild chat as accessible through some sort of item, like a signet ring, and you can sense general emotions as well as communicate.
I subscribe to the 'doublethink' version of guild chat as well. Imo, it's something entirely seperate, like the place we all retire to /after/ adventuring... even when we're currently adventuring. Otherwise, all the actions that go on (which make up a significant portion of guild chat) don't work - nobody tackles people over the mystical airwaves.

Levels have always made more sense to me than seasons. Like others have said, 70 seasons isn't a realistic age, especially with multiple races. Levels are appropriate, imo, as long as it's treated as "I'm reaching the 65th level of training" rather than "I dinged level 65!".

Then again, anyone using Ding is going to be hit with my imaginary Stick of Shame anyways Big Grin
