Word is that Blizzard has or is about to hotfix this. No idea if current special pets are kept tamed yet, but some servers have reported that they can no longer tame.

Grain of salt, but there ya go.

Officially in the latest set of hotfixes, these pets are no longer tameable in a way that keeps the buff/debuff.

If you have one already, people are reporting that they still have them, though the "hardcore" remove on death buffs are still going away upon death and are not retrievable. So, the five that are "permanent" debuffs are still viable at this time.

I do plan to hide some of these in my stables until more reports come out!

Side note: Some hunters have reported their pets disappearing (permanently) in BC and NR instances where there are a lot of mobs all at once. Be careful with your rare/irreplaceable ones.

I just use my cat, Nadi, that I got in the Blood Elf starting zone... or my T-rex, RAARG. My needs are simple.

I envy your simple needs for pets. I have a silly need to collect things, vanity pets, mounts, and the weird tames that make people go "Huh?".

(That's a great T-Rex name! I have the less impressive "Roar.")
