Where have the cookies gone?

If there are cookies about, one can be sure Coranda hasn't baked them. She hasn't so much as warmed a cauldron for tea in weeks. How long will it be before anyone notices?

Anca knows! So she has made some cookies too, but they tend to be flat, a bit singed, and not as sweet-tasting.

Donalzon sits in the guildhall reading a worn book of children's stories. He glances up as he hears an outburst from Mula and Anca in the corner. He waits in anticipation for the food fight to break out and to start deflecting cookies with his book. As he sits watching Mula and Anca he glances around and realizes that there is in fact no food to be thrown. He grunts to himself and goes back to reading.
-Donalzon

“He lives not long who battles with the immortals, nor do his children prattle about his knees when he has come back from battle and the dead fray.”

Homer, The Iliad

Munching on a stale cookie he had stashed away in a bag, Mirounga smiles happily. These are so much better then eating whatever he could scavenge from the land around the cave he used to live in.

Mula suddenly realizes that the "cookie" that she was holding was actually a stale piece of a tough hunk of bread. She looks around the hall and at the absence of cookies, her eyes going moist. "They're just cookies...I don't need them..." Her eyes grow wilder as she starts looking around the cook fire for some trace of the cookies. "It's fine...I'm fine...really..." She nibbles on a piece of lovely chocolate cake, but knows that it could never replace the taste of a fresh baked, warm, soft, chewey, oh-so-delicious cookie.
