I listen to a lot of electronic music, mostly breaks and techno. Plump DJs, Benny Benassi, Meat Katie, Chicken Lips, Layo and Bushwacka, Daft Punk, and so forth. Also a bit of hip-hop (though most of the stuff on the radio makes me blanch), 80s, and rock (though I can't stand "new rock".)

Generally, I'll give anything a shot.

Jabulji and I also like Dragonforce a lot. Other than that, I listen to hard rock stuff like Jimi Hendrix and Stevie Ray Vaughan. Oh, some techno too.

I saw Sting in concert once - that was pretty cool. Especially when he did a couple of old Police songs (Message In A Bottle and Every Breath You Take, if I recall correctly.)

Eh, I don't listen to a lot of music, just what I can find =) But here goes nothing

As I Lay Dieing
AFI
Anthrax
Billy Idol (Yes, I do. Don't laugh, please.)
David Bowie
Dimmu Borgir
Disturbed
Iggy Pop & The Stooges
In Flames
Killswitch Engage
Godsmack

All I can think of right now. I know, I'm pretty music-empty =/ That's only because my brother's destroyed every good song I've ever heard by belting out in his ear-bleed voice.

Some really excellent music that everyone should sample.

Johnny Cash
George Strait
Waylon Jennings
Marty Robbins
George Jones
Hank Williams (Sr & Jr.)

Oh yeah, and Godsmack, Disturbed, Seether, et. al.

I'll also plug a little band named Flogging Molly, which is a wondeful Irish Punk band.

{EDIT} Some more here in the hopes that Vilyave will take me back someday

Paul Simon (Graceland, baby)
Blues Traveller
Maroon 5
Metallica (natch)
Soundgarden
Goo Goo Dolls
They Might Be Giants

Irasis, I hereby disown you. (Yes, again).

Krell, don't feel old - I recognized nine, and I'm a fair bit younger than you, I'd warrant.

I tend to fixate on one band or artist (or even one song) and completely wear them out, then move on to the next, but there are a few that I never get over, most notably, Tori Amos. The woman owns my soul.

A few others would be:

The Fray
Death Cab for Cutie
Muse
Ani DiFranco
Keane
A Perfect Circle
Jars of Clay
Cold
Dashboard Confessional
Sarah McLachlan
Incubus
Skillet
Jimmy Eat World
Duncan Sheik
The Killers
VAST
Disturbed
Rufus Wainwright

You are my new best friend. <3 Tori Amos.

Here is a link to all of the songs currently on my iPod. Beware, it's a huge file and takes a minute or two to load, especially on slower connections.

I'd be surprised if folks recognized most of the bands I listen to since a lot of them is Euro stuff friends have shared with me over years. Not all of them are new age anything. Just less known here, so don't feel old. Tongue

I am falling for it! Well, Waka here listens to mostly indie, punk, and things that used to be called "alternative." And come on, any rock with a decent female lead. I also feel the strongest urge to proselytize the band "Sarge," a midwestern rock band existing from roughly 96-01, led by the amazing Elizabeth Elmore.

I also listen to Cake, the Decemberists, Dar Williams, Sleater-Kinney, Ted LEo and the Pharmacists, Garbage, Weezer, Bad Religion, Garbage, the Indigo Girls, Tiger Trap, Letter to Cleo, Less Than Jake, They Might Be Giants, BoA (the British band, not the Korean band), Dispatch, Eddie From Ohio, Veruca Salt, The New Pornographers, Moxy Fruvous... the list could go on and on, but that's a small sampling.
