My first memory is of waking up to see the guards of Sen’jin bending over me. I was found on the beach, unconscious. I have no memory of who I was, where I was from, or how I got there. The witch doctor examined me, and then he and the elders of the village questioned me. Who was I? Why did I talk so different from them? Why was I on the beach? I could not answer any of their questions. When I told them I could not remember anything, the witch doctor took my hand, and gazed into the fire we were seated around.
