I got Spore Galactic Adventures last week, and I'm starting to look into the Community-based aspects of the game. I think that you add buddies by adding their email address. I don't want to write mine out in the General Gossip forum, so send me a PM, and let's be Spore Buddies!
Also, I'm working on an Ironsong Tribe themed Adventure. I'll let you know when it's up.
