One Lone Troll
#1
By Eonia Attaboli

In the darkest corner of the night
One lone Troll stood up to fight
'Back to the wall she faced her foe
drew her wand and gave it a go

She fought just and she fought true
She fought with one, and then with two
As the enemies came and came on fast
She wondered how just One, could last

Would she survive the attacks at hand?
Would this be her final stand?
But as she fought their numbers dwindled
And at once her hope rekindled

For to her left and to her right
The Ironsongs too, fought with all their might
Is this what friendship should truely mean?
For the HORDE! For Ironsong! For the Furry, the elvish and the green!

((This was patterned after a nonsensical children's limerick I feel inclined to share as well. It always makes me smile. Don't know who wrote it but my mom used to recite it to me and my brothers when we were young.))

One fine day in the middle of the night,
Two dead boys* got up to fight,
Back to back they faced each other,
Drew their swords and shot each other,

One was blind and the other couldn't, see
So they chose a dummy for a referee.
A blind man went to see fair play,
A dumb man went to shout "hooray!"

A paralysed donkey passing by,
Kicked the blind man in the eye,
Knocked him through a nine inch wall,
Into a dry ditch and drowned them all,

A deaf policeman heard the noise,
And came to arrest the two dead boys,
If you don't believe this story’s true,
Ask the blind man he saw it too!
