Make sure you run all your anti-virus programs.
Hopefully the officers have been noted.

Eru...you have been demoted to peon. Please ID any other alts we need to drop.
I do not see Aruadan in the guild... Open a ticket asap and let Blizzard know. They can usually do a restore on it. If you need any officer help let us know. D

I am not sure if any items have been removed from the guild bank. I apologize to the guild if they have taken stuff.
I am installing a more trustworthy AV/Firewall program thats offered by my ISP, will be attempting to fix it while I contact blizzard. Eru'Adan is the only character I believe I have in IST at this point, thankfully. Thank you Dispaya for the demotion. Leeloominai is my banker alt and I apologize if I confused you in anyway.

I hope you immediately changed your password. Open a ticket and tell blizz then don't log on world of warcraft again until you've unplugged your computer from the internet and completely searched it.

I have done a complete search using several programs...downloading several more because I just got an e-mail from blizzard asking for a password reset...which I did not request. This I think is telling me the hacker might still be attempting to maintain control over my account using old information. I am going to scan my comp with several more programs and hopefully that will find something.

I've found Malwarebytes anti-malware and Spybot Search and Destroy to be effective. Malwarebytes also has a forum where you can request free help.

I have run my virus scanner, Malewarebytes, Hijackthis, Spybot, AdAware and Trend Micro's online scanner several times...all have come up clean after the first scans. I am going to assume all is well. No word back yet from Blizz on the investigation of my account.

I would highly suggest getting a Blizzard Authenticator... er... once they get back in stock, that is.

Efluvious Wrote:http://www.wowinsider.com/2008/12/16/int...passwords/ I have actually just switched to FireFox which I have read is much much much much more secure than IE. Also I have changed my password to something that I havent technically typed...not sure if a keylogger can track that if I just copy it into my password box when logging in. As for the Authenticator....not sure if I am that hardcore for WoW to get that at this point in time. Xartok says hes going to get one, so I might consider it. I got e-mails saying that they have essentially restored all of my characters, Except for Mokimi who still resides on Stormscale....and Eruadan, whom I hope are investigating further. Thanks for everyones support!

Well, I decided to go ahead and download (and install, of course) Firefox.

Switching to firefox is a good start, but I would recommend getting two addons for it.

It stops java scripts unless you allow them specifically by site (found via right click menu).

Efluvious Wrote:Switching to firefox is a good start, but I would recommend getting two addons for it. I actually immediately downloaded "NoScript" Which can be rather annoying but a small sacrifice for potentially better internet security...I harassed blizz again and I am still in the queue for my characters gold and remaining items, hopefully Eru is in there too because hes my only played character right now.

I also downloaded and installed the "NoScript" add-on, even before reading this post, since I remembered someone mentioning it in the OOC channel.
