It is almost time to bring down the Lich King, once and for all. During the moot on June 24, the fall of Arthas will be incorporated into our Tribal History.
Details will be forthcoming as we approach the time, but for story purposes, the time of the Choosing of the Champions is fast approaching. It is up to YOU to decide how you will be involved with the final battle. We understand this can be a very personal decision, and we want you all to think carefully about how you will incorporate your own personal stories into this important event.
Some ideas on how you might be involved, in no way a complete list:
Part of the support teams and supply lines Rear guard action, keeping the Champions from being attacked as they storm the Citadel Champion in the attack Home defense, guarding the Horde territories Skirmishers, harassing the Scourge to keep them busy during the attack Scouts, monitoring the Alliance to make sure they don't see this as an opportunity against us Healers ready to receive the wounded
Not everyone needs to strike the "final blow," as it were. For example, Wakamito, the young tauren warrior, will not be chosen as a Champion. Instead, he will be at the base of the citadel to keep the Scourge at bay while the others make their attack. Be true to your character, be respectful of the stories of others.

Ironsong Ultra-Short Six Word Story Contest
I am holding a creative writing contest for ultra-short stories! Your job is to write an ultra-short story of no more than six words. The contest will run for two weeks, and you may enter as many stories as you wish. Have fun!
Goal Write a six-word story consistent with the Warcraft world.
Duration The competition will last two weeks. It will be over on May 6, 2010.
Prizes Three prizes will be awarded, for the winner and two runners-up. Prizes will be distributed after the moot on May 6, at 7 p.m.
Rules 1) Your story may be no more than 6 words long 2) Contractions (e.g. don't, can't, she's) count as one word 3) You may enter as many stories as you like 4) The story does not need to mention Warcraft concepts explicitly, but it must be consistent with the Warcraft world. 5) Submit your stories as replies to this post in "Exciting Events" 6) Friends of Ironsong are welcome to participate

Ironsong Scavenger Hunt
I have put together a Scavenger Hunt! In this thread you will find fifteen screenshots. Your job will be to travel the lands of Azeroth, Outland, and Northrend in search of the places where these screenshots were taken, and to take a screenshot of your character standing in the shot, matching the original's angle as closely as possible.
Goal Upload a complete set of screenshots of yourself in each of the locations below.
Duration The competition will last two weeks. It will be over on April 8.
Prizes Three prizes will be awarded, for: (1) Speed. For the first person to upload a complete set of screenshots (2) Artistry. For the most beautiful collection of images (wardrobe, lighting, mood, weather, get creative!) (3) Humor. For the silliest collection of images! Make me laugh! (can also include captions)
Prizes will be handed out after the moot on April 8, at 7 p.m.
Rules 1) All screenshots must contain your character in the screenshot 2) No other player characters are allowed in the screenshot 3) All screenshots must be clean, meaning no UI (hit option-Z or alt-Z to hide the UI, take the screenshot, then hit option-Z or alt-Z again to get your UI back) because the minimap would give away the zone the other players 4) Each shot must be posted as found in your screenshot folder (no editing) 5) Screenshots must be submitted to this thread in the "Exciting Events" forum 6) Any additions posted after April 8 will not be considered.

We've officially scheduled this year's Ironsong Family Moot for the weekend of June 12 & 13.
Explanation for the new people and the slow group!
This is a summer gathering at the shared home of Daichallar, Fleethoof, and myself, in the woods up here in Vermont. It's been called the "Vermoot" colloquially by people who want to get on my nerves, and it's an absolute blast.
What do we do?
We hang out, share stories, play board games, go swimming at the river, eat a ton of great food, share some drinks, and otherwise enjoy each others' company!
Where do we stay?
My house is in Moretown, VT. Accommodation is camping because our house is small and filled with children. A limited supply of tents are available, but these are on a first-come-first-served basis, so let me know if you need one. For those requiring a bed and a room, there are a few hotel options reasonably nearby.
How much does it cost?
Watch this space. In years past, we've asked for a fairly modest donation, usually around $20, to help us defray the cost of food, tiki oil, porta-potty, ice, and booze. We're working on the budget and will have the suggested donation listed soon.
Wait, booze?
Yeah! We usually have a communal keg of Vermont's very own Long Trail Ale on tap, and a lot of folks have brought their own favorite libation in the past. Anyone of legal age is welcome to imbibe, with the understanding that it be done responsibly. After all, there are kids around.
Kids?
We've got our own little zerglings running about underfoot, and if you like, you're welcome to bring yours too!

Anca has been promoted to the rank of Advisor! She has been a member of the Tribe for a long time, and consistently demonstrated wisdom, fairness, and dedication to the core values of the tribe, and we are all very lucky to have her helping us out! Hooray Anca!
In-character, of course, Sreng has recognized that his own daughter must be groomed for chieftainship herself. After all, the life-expectancy of troll hunters has never been that great, and it would be a shame for a rampaging frost giant to leave the tribe without any Hunters with enunciation problems.

Rincewindy and Mula were victims of an unwanted possession ((hacked)). After a long and grueling battle of wills, Mula and I have have fought off the aggessors. Have purchased a guard dog to watch over us while we sleep.
